Sourced from the mature, cool-climate Drumborg Vineyard in south-west Victoria’s Henty region, this Riesling continues Seppelt’s legacy of crafting wines that capture the purity and precision of this remarkable site.
Planted in 1964 by Karl Seppelt, the Drumborg Vineyard remains one of Australia’s most celebrated cool-climate vineyards – a place where ocean breezes, ancient soils and meticulous viticulture combine to create wines of striking minerality and longevity.
Our 2025 release reflects an exceptional growing season in Drumborg, yielding fruit of superb concentration and aromatic power. Traditional winemaking techniques – cool tank fermentation followed by brief maturation on lees – were used to preserve freshness and highlight the vineyard’s distinctive character.
Fragrant notes of kaffir lime, lemon blossom, poached pear and a hint of perfumed bath salts.
A powerful, flavoursome and intense palate featuring lemon peel, kaffir lime and starfruit, layered with mineral spice and a touch of salinity. The textural, chalky mouthfeel gives weight and balance to the wine’s pure acid backbone. Vibrant on release, it will continue to evolve beautifully over the next decade and beyond.
The 2025 vintage at Drumborg was shaped by a warm, dry growing season following a late burst of winter and early spring rain that replenished soil moisture. Low disease pressure and consistent sunshine allowed fruit to ripen evenly, delivering pristine condition and exceptional flavour intensity. Harvest commenced earlier than usual, producing Riesling of striking aromatic purity, balanced structure and impressive length – a true reflection of Drumborg’s cool-climate pedigree.
