Seppelt Drumborg Vineyard Pinot Noir 2025 is a striking example of cool-climate winemaking from Victoria’s Henty region. First planted in 1964 by Karl Seppelt, the Drumborg Vineyard is one of the most southerly vineyards in mainland Australia. Its location, exposed to icy Southern Ocean winds, produces wines with purity, minerality and remarkable finesse.
Today, Drumborg is recognised as one of Australia’s great single-vineyard sites for pinot noir. The 2025 vintage reflects the hallmark elegance of Henty pinot noir: lifted aromatics, savoury complexity, fine acidity and outstanding cellaring potential.
Seppelt’s Drumborg Vineyard is renowned for producing elegant and age-worthy wines. The 2025 vintage highlights the vineyard’s pedigree, offering lifted aromatics, savoury complexity and a long, finely structured palate. This release continues the vineyard’s reputation as one of Australia’s great single-vineyard pinot noir sites.
Nose
Fragrant red cherry, cranberry and pomegranate layered with hints of bramble, porcini mushroom and subtle flint.
Palate
Bright and finely textured with a core of cherry stone and redcurrant. Layers of savoury spice, struck match and delicate oak add depth, while silky tannins and vibrant acidity provide length and balance.
The Drumborg Vineyard Pinot Noir 2025 comes from the Henty wine region in south-west Victoria. Known for its ancient soils and cool maritime climate, the vineyard’s unique terroir ensures slow ripening, natural acidity and concentrated fruit flavours. The 2025 season began with a wet winter and cool, damp spring, delaying flowering and reducing yields. A warm, dry summer followed, allowing careful canopy management and precise harvest timing. These conditions produced fruit of exceptional intensity, ripe tannins and refreshing natural acidity – hallmarks of cool-climate Henty Pinot Noir.
