Chalambar Shiraz was first crafted in 1953 by Australian winemaking legend Colin Preece. Named after the picturesque Mount Chalambar in Victoria’s Grampians region, this wine has long celebrated the art of blending premium Shiraz parcels from some of Victoria’s finest viticultural regions.
The 2025 vintage tells a slightly different story.
Due to smoke taint in the Grampians during vintage, no Grampians fruit was harvested for this release. Instead, the 2025 Chalambar Shiraz has been crafted entirely from premium Heathcote Shiraz.
Heathcote fruit has always played an important role in Chalambar, bringing generous dark fruit, depth and structure to the blend. In 2025, it takes centre stage.
Expect a medium-bodied Shiraz with mulberry fruit, savoury spice, plush texture and fine, velvety tannins — a thoughtful expression of Chalambar in a challenging vintage.
