Shiraz and Jazz with Spirited Rail Tours

For its inaugural journey, the Shiraz & Jazz Railway Tour will roll through Western Victoria from 9 to 12 October 2026, bringing together heritage rail, regional stories and a very special stop at Seppelt Great Western.

As part of Day One of the wider tour, guests will travel from Seymour, Southern Cross and North Shore before arriving by train at Great Western in the early afternoon, stepping off right on the doorstep of one of Australia’s most historic wine destinations.

During the Seppelt Great Western stop, guests will enjoy a privately guided winery tour, explore our extraordinary underground cellars, take part in a wine tasting and sit down for a special lunch in an underground dining space. After lunch, guests will reboard the train and continue on into the beyond.

The full tour travels through Great Western, Murtoa, Horsham, Nhill and Rainbow, with rail experiences, regional touring, jazz, local stories and heritage stops along the way.

For those joining the full journey, this is a rare chance to arrive at Seppelt Great Western by rail and experience the history, wine and underground spaces that have shaped Great Western since the 1860s.
