Fleur de Lys is a sparkling series of Seppelt wines, crafted from leading cool-climate regions.Composed of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir fruit, featuring a big lemonade type bubble. Pure fruit flavours and a crisp, dry finish, pale straw yellow in colour, fresh with citrus undertones on the nose, our Fleur De Lys wines are a lovely aperitif wine but great with finger food, canapes etc, a suitable accompaniment to any occasion. The popular Seppelt Fleur de Lys Cuvee is an approachable non-vintage blend in a fresh and playful style. Fleur de Lys was formally known as the Great Western Imperial Reserve Champagne until 1985 when the French claimed ownership of the name “champagne’’ to be used exclusively to describe sparkling wines originating from that region. As a tongue in cheek response to this, Seppelt renamed the wine with the most French sounding name that they could think of and branded the labels with the symbol of the French royal family.
